Recruiting heroes is a very important part of this game. The more powerful the heroes, the more powerful you can be.
To recruit heroes, you must go to the TAVERN in one of the main cities (Necrolis, Sanctoria, Arthlan, or Regia Deorum). Here you will see a list of 3 heroes that you can recruit. You can see all of the heroes stats, including their SPECIALTY and their POTENTIAL. These are two very important traits of the hero that you must take into consideration when recruiting.
THE HIGHER THE POTENTIAL IS THE BETTER THE HERO IS!!!!!!!!!
Also, the specialty of the hero matters for what you want to use the hero for. It also determines which skill tomes you should teach the hero (another topic on the forum ). The four specialties are pretty basic: ATTACK, DEFENSE, AGILITY, AND BALANCED.
You can tell how good a hero is by looking at his/her color. The color ranking goes as follows (from least to greatest rarity/power):
white green blue purple orange red
NOTE: IT IS HIGHLY RECCOMENDED TO GET RID OF YOUR LOW COLOR HEROS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, AND RECRUIT HIGHER COLOR HEROES TO REPLACE THEM.
There are many ways to refresh the heroes in the tavern:
1. Hourly Refresh
• This will happen automatically on a game timer. Every time you look in the tavern and there is a new set of heroes, the timer will start.
• The timer lasts exactly 1 hour. At the end of that hour, a new set of heroes will appear.
2. Free Refresh
• You get 5 of these every day. Use these to refresh the tavern and get a new set of heroes to recruit.
• There is not a very good chance of getting a high color hero with the free refreshes.
3. Summoning Horn
• You can purchase these at the coupon shop, get them from some dungeon bosses, or obtain them through special rewards.
• These give you a higher chance of getting a high color hero than the free and hourly refreshes, but the chances of getting above a purple hero are low, and it is impossible to get a red hero with a summoning horn.
4. Book of Astrology
• These can be purchased with gold, obtained through dungeon bosses, or won through special rewards.
• These are the BEST way to get high color heroes. You have the best possibility of getting a high color hero, including a red hero, by using these at the tavern.
NOTE: It is recommended that you use summoning horns and books of astrology in bulk. In other words, use a lot of them at a time instead of just one or two at a time for the best results.
NOTE: Just because there is a possibility that you could get a high color hero using these items doesn’t mean you should expect one as you go in. I myself have used countless numbers of these items and never received a red hero, or very many orange heroes.
